In a truly tragic turn of events early morning on November 10th, an Alpine family’s’ only son was killed after his mother crashed their Toyota Tacoma pickup on Old Highway 80. Some who were at the scene reported the accident as likely being the result of a blown tire. The father, Sunil Sambhi, reportedly extremely upset, chose to begin driving against traffic on the same freeway that took his sons life. Sambhi then veered towards an oncoming car causing a head on collision with a 44 year old man driving with his 19 year old son. Sambhi was killed in the crash while the others were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
