In the middle of the night, before early morning commuters crowded the freeway, an eerie accident occurred on one Californian freeway. A shooting took place on the Santa Monica 10 Freeway, injuring one passenger in the car. The personal injury, pain, and suffering caused must have resulted in so much distress for the victim of the crime.

Remember the 2007 movie “Juno” starring Ellen Page who played the role of Juno MacGuff? It’s a modern coming-of-age story in which 16-year-old Juno learns that she’s pregnant from a one-time sexual encounter with her best friend, Paulie Bleeker. Juno and Paulie like each other, but they don’t consider themselves to be a couple and they’re certainly not ready to have a child yet. Although she would rather not be pregnant, Juno is fairly realistic about her situation. Initially she decides that she will have an abortion, but that’s something that she ultimately cannot go through with. She decides to have the baby and give it up for adoption instead. The next step is to find prospective parents for the yet unborn child. On her own choosing, Juno enters into a closed rather than open adoption contract with the Lorings – meaning she will have no contact with the baby after she gives it up.
Los Angeles police detectives are investigating a series of death threats sent to actress Ellen Page on Twitter that coincided with calls to the L.A. Film Festival making similar pledges to kill the “Juno” star.

ArtWalk is supposed to showcase the best artists in Los Angeles, but last night protesters clashed with police. The usually peaceful monthly event turned violent because police tried to limit free speech.
At least 17 people were arrested Thursday night when violence broke out at the monthly ArtWalk event in downtown Los Angeles.

Not surprisingly, Los Angeles is the high-speed pursuit capital of the world. With so many freeways, it’s easy for criminals to think that they can escape justice by eluding police. This may be true for a short period of time, but sooner or later, police will eventually catch up to the perpetrators and haul them off to jail or prison.
The main problem with high-speed chases, however, is that they can cause immense devastation. So many innocent people have been injured or killed during police pursuits. Many police pursuits also end violently.

Remember the annoyingly obnoxious metal band Amen? Maybe you listened to them in high school. They formed in 1994 and who knows if they’re still active. Founded by front man, lead singer and songwriter Karim George Chmielinski who is better known by his stage name Casey Chaos, the band has had more lineup changes than Kiss. Casey Chaos has been the only permanent member of the band with other band members filtering in and out.
For years, 46-year-old Casey Chaos was known for his blistering vocals. Now he is known for being an extremely bad driver who started a demolition derby with no audience in the San Fernando Valley. He will probably lose his license.

An unarmed 19-year-old man who was fatally shot by trigger-happy Los Angeles police officers on the 101 Freeway was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of his violent death, according to autopsy and toxicology reports that were released from the coroner’s office.
Abdul Arian was gunned down in April for no apparent reason. He led officers on a high-speed pursuit on the freeway. He even called 911 to threaten them.
