A crash involving two big rigs has shut down lanes for several hours as crews work to clean a fuel spill on the southbound 57.

The crash was reported at 4:57 a.m. north of the Orange County line near Diamond Bar Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic log.

CHP officer Francisco Villalobos said both drivers were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

As of 8 a.m., the two trailers remained at the scene, and two right lanes were still closed as Caltrans crews worked to clear up the diesel fuel spill, Villalobos said.

Officials are expecting to shut down a third lane as crews tow the trailers.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, Villalobos added.
