Jeep Hits 11-year-old Girl on Scooter

Tuesday night, October 25, 2011, a Jeep hit an 11-year-old girl who was riding a scooter on a residential street, according to Anaheim police as reported by The Orange County Register. The accident, which occurred around 5:20 a.m. near the intersection of Olive and North streets, caused the girl to be seriously injured.

The girl was riding a scooter near the Sabina Street intersection, according to Anaheim police sergeant Bob Dunn, and a Jeep, that had been headed west on North Street, struck her.

Responders took the girl to a trauma center. No details were available on whether she sustained life-threatening injuries.

The Jeep’s driver remained on scene to communicate with police, and no arrest was made. Investigators do not yet know if the Jeep or the girl on the scooter had the right-of-way.

Motorcycle and 3-cars crash, ties up 91 freeway

The OC Register reports:

The collision was reported at 7:08 a.m. just east of North Lakeview Avenue.

ANAHEIM – A motorcycle crash involving three other vehicles stalled traffic on the westbound 91 Wednesday morning.

The collision was reported at 7:08 a.m. just east of North Lakeview Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic log.

It appears a Chevrolet Trailblazer, an Audi, a Honda Accord, and the Kawasaki motorcycle were involved in the crash, said CHP officer T. Montoya, who was at the crash scene.

CHP officer Denise Quesada said the motorcyclist was seen walking around after the crash and did not appear to be severely injured.

Both the motorcyclist and a passenger in the Trailblazer were loaded into an ambulance.

One Person Dies in Anaheim Car Accident

 

Friday night, July 30, 2011, one person died in an accident in which two vehicles collided at the intersection of La Palma and Sequoia Avenue in Anaheim. Two other people were hurt in the crash, which occurred around 7:30 p.m., with one of the vehicles cut in half by the collision, and the other overturned.

As reported in the Orange County Register, police found a white Buick that had been cut in half by the collision, and a white Ford Explorer that was overturned. The man who had been driving the Buick died at the scene of the accident, police reported. The man who was driving the Explorer, and a woman who was a passenger in the Buick were transported to a hospital with injuries that appeared not to be life-threatening.

According to the news story, police state the Explorer’s driver may have been heading east on La Palma before the crash, and the Buick’s driver may have been trying to turn left from Sequoia onto La Palma. The investigation is continuing. No other details were available as yet.
