Posted on June 5, 2012 | Written By: iadminlaw

A source of inspiration may come in different forms and from the least of expected places. For some, inspiration can help decide what they want to do for the rest of their lives. Some people get inspiration to decide what they want to do for the rest of their lives. For a set of mothers, it was the desire to become firefighters all of which obtained their inspiration from unique situations. One of which who obtained her inspiration from a car accident when she was young. The Oprah Winfrey network is about to premier a new show about mom firefighters, their struggles and their lives.

The show “Lives on Fire” will take a closer look at the personal lives of women who can handle two fulltime occupations, being mothers and being firefighters. These double heroic super women will give the public an insight on how to take on a predominantly male role. The show was filmed over several months in 2011 and took place in the Wildomar Fire Battalion premises. Camera crews followed Diley Greiser, a 42-year-old paramedic around Glen Avon station along with Nica Vasquez who is a fire apparatus engineer. WFB received pay for allowing the show to film on their premises. The ladies were followed 24-hours a day seven days a week at some times capturing how overnight they became paramedics and mothers, sisters, and wives.

While both women were nervous about doing the show, they did not want to pass up the opportunity to show women across the country that they too are capable of being mothers and firefighters. They have managed to balance both lives successfully and feel good about it.

Greiser got her inspiration to become a firefighter from the time she was rescued from a car accident. Firefighters responded to the scene amidst smoke and critical conditions. In a hazy yet vivid image, the firefighters did what they could to victoriously save the driver of the vehicle. She was in awe of their jackets and their funny hats, saying to herself that one day she could do the same.
Vasquez was born into a firefighter family. Her father was a firefighter and she was used to the environment and would enjoy listening to his father’s accounts on the day and anecdotes of the station. She became a nurse first but was not feeling fulfilled. She could always feel the call of the station calling her asking her to attempt becoming a firefighter.

Perhaps producers should attempt a show that looks into the lives of car accident lawyers who with their expertise help injured victims win compensation. The show could even use Riverside car accident lawyers who live in the community and serve the people as well.
