Lancaster, CA – Five people were transported to the hospital when a public transportation bus and a Los Angeles Sheriffs cruiser crashed into an ice cream parlor building Wednesday night.

At around 8:00 p.m. on the intersection of Division Street and Avenue I an Antelope Valley Transit Authority bus and a Los Angeles Sheriffs cruiser crashed. The impact from the cruiser pushed the bus through the front wall of an ice cream parlor business.
Both L.A. County sheriffs were injured and transported to the hospital. The bus driver and both its passengers obtained minor injuries and were able to walk after the accident. Regardless, they were transported to the hospital per AVTA procedures. No one in the ice cream parlor was hurt.
The accident is under investigation by Los Angeles authorities and AVTA. Video aboard the bus is being reviewed to help determine the cause of the accident.
